Conclusion Question

1.What book did you decide to redesign the cover for? Why did you choose this book?

I chose Cinderella and I chose this book because personally I love Disney in general and I wanted to recreate it the way I saw cinderella whilst still using the prompts we have from the client brief.

2. What parts of the plot did you use as inspiration for your book cover design?

I used the ballroom and outside the castle where she loses her shoe, instead of making it glass I decided to go with gold.

3. In as much detail as possible record the steps it took to create this project in photoshop. Use complete sentences. Try to recall as many of the different tools, processes and keyboard commands as possible.

First we came up with a mood board I tried to put as much as I thought of when you think of cinderella but with different aspects after we did that I decided to go in with AI and find a castle that I thought was nice at first I put cinderella in the front cover but I made a last minute decision to change it and put the golden slipper on the front cover after I used AI to get the castle I colored and blurred out some of the background, After I had done that I used the burn and dodge tool to fix up some of the parts that looked off, I used things that I found on the internet like a moon and stars to add to the front cover lastly for the front I added as shadow silhouette  of a prince that I found I wanted to capture the part where he runs out after cinderella and is left with a shoe, After that I went straight to the back cover and looked up things from AI generated things and made the people silhouettes and used the burn, blur and dodge tool again I tried to blend out and make the things I wanted to pop more when I was done with that I went on the internet and found silhouettes of dancing people and added that to the front and back flaps I also did that for the birds on the front flaps. Alot of the things that I used I put a filter on like Satin  so that they would match better then I added all the text with a additional text behind so the words popped out better

4.What was the easiest and what was the most challenging part of creating your cover?

The most challenging part was adding most of the things I wanted to add without making it look like another book cover

5. Based on the learning target, "Students will redesign a cover for a famous book that appeals to a modern literacy audience by developing, proposing and refining artistic ideas, plans, prototypes and production processes for media arts productions.  " what level of mastery does your project demonstrate (Exceeds, Meets, Needs Work, minimal understanding). Why do you think so? Make sure to provide specific evidence.

I think I did well I think I could have added more from the client brief but overall I would give myself at least a 3.5
